  • However, an idea can be rendered less attractive to its followers if it is seen as detrimental to their needs.
  • Ideas are more or less attractive to the degree that they are seen to serve people's need for significance.
  • Defeating Hamas could make its extremist ideology less attractive, and a two-state solution more attractive.
