QAnon Crime Maps

|   CODEBOOK   |   EXPLORE THE DATA   |

The QAnon Crime Maps tool displays a comprehensive list of criminal acts committed in the United States since 2016 that were motivated by the QAnon and PizzaGate conspiracy theories. The first map allows users to explore these events and access information about their locations, motives, and outcomes. The points that are displayed on this map are geocoded to the cities of the targets or intended targets of the crimes.

The second map displays all known arrests of QAnon followers who are facing charges for participating in the January 6, 2021, Capitol breach. The points that are displayed on this map are geocoded to the offenders’ city or state of residence at the time of their arrests.

All information that is presented in the QAnon Crime Maps tool comes from public sources, including court documents and news reports. To be included in the tool, subjects must have committed criminal offenses in the United States that resulted in their arrests, indictments, or deaths, and there must be documented evidence in public sources to support a reasonable suspicion that their crimes were related, in whole or in part, to their support for the QAnon and/or PizzaGate conspiracy theories. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Aggregate statistics and additional details about these crimes can be found in the "QAnon Offenders in the United States" research brief. These data are comprehensive as of August 11, 2023.
