Princess White is the Senior Program Manager at START, where she is primarily responsible for providing resource management and budgetary tracking tools to support the business office and all divisions. Prior to START, she played a key role in launching the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) new centralized business model for research administration. Before joining UMD, White served as Senior Financial Analyst at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM). While at JHUSOM, she was chiefly involved in overseeing the financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting of department funds, while also remaining active in pre- and post-award sponsored project administration.
With her extensive experience in managing business operations in higher education, White has presented at various professional conferences on program management and research administration topics. In 2016, she presented at the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) annual conference on the theme of research management in a connected world. In 2017, she was awarded funding from the Wright Family Foundation to present at the Alba Graduate Business School on managing business operations during funding shortfalls. In 2018, she presented at the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) bi-annual congress on promoting global research management. That year, she was also selected as 1 of only 2 global recipients of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) Speaker Travel Award. In 2019, she was invited to present at the joint SRAI-ARMS conference on disruptive trends in global research management.
Beyond professional affiliations, White is a Board Member at iCan Foundation, a non-profit organization providing professional development, financial literacy and community outreach to at-risk youth and young adults in Maryland. She also regularly contributes to leadership and training opportunities as an alumna of the UB Chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi.
White has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Merrick School of Business at UB and an International Business Doctorate from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
