Julie Callis is START’s Director for Administrative Services and is primarily responsible for managing pre-award sponsored project activities, including grant proposal development. Prior to her position at START, Callis was the Assistant Director of the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC). During her 13 years at MRSEC, she held various positions, chiefly involved in overseeing its information technology, finance, and program management, while also remaining active in education outreach programming. Callis has a Master's degree of International Management (M.I.M.) from UMUC, specializing in International Enterprise Management. She is also an alumna of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.S. in International Business from the Robert H. Smith School of Business and a B.A. in German Language and Literature from the College of Arts and Humanities at UMD.
