Welcoming interns back in person at START

START is looking forward to welcoming interns in person in the fall 2022 semester, for the first time in more than two years.

The plan for the upcoming fall semester is contingent on the University of Maryland’s precautions in regards to COVID-19.

Projects with internship opportunities open to students include Global Responses to Asymmetric Threats, the Global Terrorism Database (GTD), Terrorism and Targeted Violence in the United States (T2V) and Understanding Domestic Radicalization.

START will also be offering internship stipends again. Students receive $3,000 for summer semesters, and $2,250 for fall and spring semesters.

START has held its internship program for more than 10 years, offering programs every fall, spring and summer semester.

The application period for the fall 2022 internship program is open now, with a final application deadline of June 12. Those interested can review Frequently Asked Questions about the internship or reach out to internships@start.umd.edu with any additional questions.
