START would like to thank all of the donors who helped to raise more than $3,000 for experiential education opportunities for START students on Giving Day this year.
The University of Maryland’s Giving Day is the annual 24-hour fundraising event in which all members of the UMD community join together to raise critical funding for the university.
Such donations help fund START’s experiential education opportunities for students, which include research internships, participatory online courses and professional mentoring.
“If you have benefited from START research, education, training or outreach efforts, I can guarantee you it is in large part because of our students. Students play a vital role in everything we do, and mentoring students is the most important thing we do,” START Director William Braniff said. “These generous donations will help us provide more value to our students as they bring value to our work. Thank you!”
