The Center for Biosecurity at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has launched an initiative to prepare cities in the United States for how to respond to the detonation of a nuclear device in the country. The "Rad Resilient City" effort provides city leaders with a checklist of actionable steps that need to be taken to protect citizens from the potential of nuclear fallout, as well as an implementation workbook.
The effort is led by START-affiliated researcher Monica Schoch-Spana.
Rad Resilient City materials and background are available at the project website.
