START Director Quoted in Response to London Attacks
In the wake of the London subway bombings, the expertise of Gary LaFree was called upon for an article in the Christian Science Monitor. Trying to determine if the attack was connected to al-Qaida, LaFree tried to explain the terrorist mindset. "The human response is to say this is senseless violence. But the whole point is not senseless. There are goals, and this is an attempt to communicate," he said.
