This March, START will be offering two half-day training workshops designed to help participants regularly achieve time-sensitive analytic product consistency. The workshops will take place on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 and will be held at Chincoteague Hall on the University of Maryland campus.
The workshops will explore issues of informed judgment in real-time data analysis and interpretation in scenarios security and defense professionals may face. Both seasoned practitioners and young professionals will find these interactive sessions with START researchers helpful.
“These training sessions offer a big opportunity for START: We can expand our end-user services by showing them the best practices to incorporate the research we produce into everyday decision making, while connect personally with working professionals in our areas of expertise,” said John Stevenson, lead investigator and senior researcher on the Department of Defense’s Strategic Multilayer Assessment projects at START.
Dr. Stevenson will be the primary investigator lending his expertise to trainees at the interactive workshops. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago and teaches Research Methods in Terrorism and Counterterrorism for START’s Graduate Certificate in Terrorism Analysis.
Registration is now open at an early-bird discounted rate of $225 per workshop, or $400 for both workshops. For more information, visit the event page here.
