On Dec. 7, members of the Nigerian Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, led by its chairman Professor Itse Sagay, visited START.
The committee, appointed by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2015, gave a presentation on the challenges faced by Nigeria regarding corruption, with specific focus on how it affects the country's ability to fight terrorism. They also discussed potential areas of collaboration with START researchers.
The committee serves as an advisory think tank on the Nigerian government's anti-corruption efforts, developing anti-corruption strategies, coordinating inter-governmental activities and building governmental, private sector and civil society capacities.
