Manuela Caiani and Linda Parenti's book, "European and American Extreme Right Groups and the Internet" will release this month. Caiani and Parenti discuss examples of extreme right groups from across Europe and the United States using the internet to communicate, recruit new members and build and identity. Additionally, the duo discusses how the internet dictates influences the actions and mobilization strategies of extremist groups. Caiani is 2009-2010 a START Terrorism Research Award Recipient (TRA) for her research of "Patterns of Right-Wing Political Radicalization Using the Internet within the United States and Europe." START awards the TRA to individuals actively engaged in critical research related to the field of terrorism and responses to terrorism.
