Arie Kruglanski, director of START's Working Group 1 and a distinguished university professor of psychology at the University of Maryland, has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award by the Society of Experimental Social Psychology (SESP). The prestigious SESP Distinguished Scientist Award honors an individual who has made unusually important contributions to experimental social psychology.
Arie Kruglanski is applying the methods of experimental social psychology to START's research, working to enhance understanding of how individuals' values and belief systems impact perceptions of terrorism.
