Want to know more about START’s Global Terrorism Studies Minor Program? Sign up to attend one of our upcoming information sessions!
START has developed an undergraduate minor in Global Terrorism Studies, a cross-disciplinary program housed in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland. The minor is designed to train the next generation of terrorism analysts, including students who plan to pursue graduate study related to terrorism as well as employment in the federal, state, local, non-profit, and/or private sectors. The program is part of the University of Maryland’s Global Studies program, alongside the minors in International Development and Conflict Management, Global Poverty, and Global Engineering Leadership.
START accepts applications to the program from University of Maryland undergraduates once per calendar year, during the spring semester. Students from all colleges and majors may apply.
We will be offering two info sessions this fall, the first to take place in-person on Monday, October 11th, the second virtually on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021.
The info session will be led by START’s Director of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Thomas Guarrieri, and START's Education Coordinator, who will discuss how the Global Terrorism Studies Minor Program currently works, what students have to gain from their experience in the program, application requirements, and any other questions attendees may have.
This registration is for 6-7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. You will receive an email by the morning of the event with detailed information on how to access the webinar in UMD's Zoom platform via a computer or phone.
