Stuart A. Wright’s well-crafted book provides an overview of the far-right patriot movement and significantly adds to both the social movement and terrorism literatures. It demonstrates that although international terrorists like Islamic Jihadists pose a grave threat to the United States, homegrown extremist movements like the patriot movement are also dangerous. Wright innovatively applies social movement theory to explain the patriot movement’s emergence and decline.
