12/29/2020: Assailants attacked a village between Jalawla and Khanaqin, Diyala, Iraq. This was one of four attacks in this area on this day. Two people were killed in the attack, including an alleged assailant, and three people were wounded across the attacks. No group claimed responsibility for the attack; however, sources attributed the attack to Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
