12/18/2020: Assailants ambushed a civilian convoy along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway in Garin Kuturu, Konduga district, Borno, Nigeria. At least one person was killed, four were injured, and 35 were abducted in the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. The Al-Barnawi faction (Islamic State West Africa Province-ISWAP) of Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the group specifically targeted Christian civilians during the attack.
