Incident Summary:

11/18/2020: Assailants attacked Nuristan provincial officials in Darmalok, Kunar, Afghanistan. One police officer was killed and four officials, including rural development director Syed Masoum Saeedi, were abducted. Saeedi and his driver were released on November 26, 2020. The whereabouts of the remaining hostages are unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
