Incident Summary:
09/27/2020: Assailants attacked a security post in Dara-i-Sufi Bala district, Samangan, Afghanistan. This was one of two related attacks in Samangan on this date. At least 16 people, including two police officers and 14 assailants, were killed and 15 people, including 12 assailants and three officers, were injured across the attacks. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
