09/19/2020: An explosive device detonated targeting the vehicle of Colonel Muhammad Asif Tokhi in Ata Khona, Paktika, Afghanistan. Colonel Tokhi, a local deputy police chief, was killed and three soldiers were injured in the blast. This was one of two related attacks in Paktika within 24 hours. Sources noted that Tokhi was responding to an earlier attack in the neighboring Yahya Khel district. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
