Incident Summary:

09/15/2020: Assailants opened fire on an Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) checkpoint in Kikoga village, Irumu, Ituri, Democratic Republic of the Congo. At least six people, including one soldier and five assailants, were killed and two others, including one soldier and one assailant, were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Cooperative for the Development of the Congo (CODECO) militia.
