09/12/2020: An assailant stabbed and killed a Portuguese man in Morges, Vaud, Switzerland. An unaffiliated individual claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the victim was targeted "out of vengeance against the Swiss state." The assailant had previously been surveilled for his possible links to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and other Islamist organizations.
