09/08/2020: Assailants launched an explosives-laden drone targeting the Abha airport in Abha, Asir, Saudi Arabia. There were no reported casualties as the drone was safely intercepted by coalition forces. Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that they had intended to shut the airport down for several hours. They also noted that the attack was carried out in retaliation to "the forces of aggression and the continuous siege on the Yemeni people."
