Incident Summary:

07/05/2020: Assailants abducted Mohamed Mohamud Siyad from his vehicle along a road near Galoley, between Balcad and Jowhar, Middle Shebelle, Somalia. Siyad, a member of the Hirshabelle regional parliament, was killed a short time later. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack and accused the victim of antagonizing the group's "genuine quest for a united Somalia" where there are "equal rights" for all.
