Incident Summary:

04/26/2020: Assailants stopped a vehicle carrying the state agriculture commissioner and a district councilor along a road between Isan-Ekiti and Iludun, Ekiti, Nigeria. The district councilor, Olatunji Omotosho, was killed while two people, including the commissioner, Folorunso Olabode, and a civilian, Bosede Taiwo, were abducted in the attack. Taiwo was released on April 30, 2020 and Olabode was released on May 4, 2020. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected the involvement of Fulani extremists.
