Incident Summary:

03/21/2020: An assailant attempted to drive an explosives-laden vehicle into Bagram airbase but was stopped by security forces at a checkpoint in Bagram, Parwan, Afghanistan. The assailant then fired mortars at Bagram airbase and security forces destroyed the vehicle. The assailant escaped and there were no reported casualties in the attack. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident. Sources also attributed the attack to the Taliban.
