12/25/2019: Assailants attacked police and national guards in Sanam, Tillaberi, Niger. At least 14 security personnel were killed and four were wounded in the incident, while the assailants sustained an unknown number of casualties. Additionally, an unknown number of people were reported missing and their whereabouts are unknown. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
