12/16/2019: Assailants abducted N'dje Cisse and his driver in N'Djoura, Timbuktu, Mali. The driver was released the following day and Cisse, the regional director of the Taoudenit forest cantonment, was released on August 24, 2020. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Muslim extremists.
