Incident Summary:

11/06/2019: Assailants detonated explosive devices and opened fire on a convoy of Semafo gold mine workers in Tapoa district, Est, Burkina Faso. At least 37 people, including civilians and soldiers, were killed and 60 others were injured in the attack. An unknown number of people were reported missing following the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS).
