09/09/2019: Assailants armed with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades attacked a military convoy in Garunda, Borno, Nigeria. Nine soldiers were killed and others went missing during the incident. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility for the attacks.
