09/03/2019: Assailants attacked Afghan forces in Zari district, Balkh, Afghanistan. At least 20 soldiers, police officers, and pro-government militia members and 12 assailants were killed and four other security personell were abducted in the ensuing clash. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Taliban.
