08/00/2019: Sometime between August 1, 2019 and August 15, 2019, assailants abducted and beheaded police officer Alaa Ameen Mohammad Al-Majmai from his home south of Samarra, Saladin, Iraq. Al-Majmai’s brother, Sajid, was also kidnapped and then released. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident and threatened other government employees to resign from their positions.
