08/05/2019: Assailants attacked Nigerian soldiers in Monguno, Borno, Nigeria. In addition to an unknown number of assailant and soldier casualties, at least five civilians were killed and an unknown number of others were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
