Incident Summary:

06/18/2019: Assailants abducted Santosh Punem from a construction site and set fire to four construction vehicles in Marimalla, Chhattisgarh, India. Punem, a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, was killed and his body was discovered the following day. Maoists claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out because the victim was allegedly linked with Salwa Judum and because he was a contractor.
