06/17/2019: Assailants attacked a military base near Gajiram, Borno, Nigeria. At least 25 soldiers were killed and other soldiers were abducted. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. This was one of two related incidents near Gajiram on this date. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility for the attack.
