Incident Summary:

05/22/2019: Assailants, including suicide bombers, in an explosives-laden vehicle on their way to carry out an attack refused to stop at a police checkpoint in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Police at the checkpoint opened fire and the vehicle detonated. At least eight people, including four assailants, two civilians, and two police officers, were killed and 15 people, including civilians and police officers, were injured in the blast. The Taliban and the Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
