Incident Summary:

04/09/2019: Four suicide bombers attacked the central police barracks in Diffa, Niger. The assailants briefly took an unknown number of police officers hostage in a nearby police residence. All four assailants detonated, killing themselves and two officers and injuring four other officers in the blast. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility and stated that the attack was carried out "as part of IS's 'revenge' campaign for its Syrian affiliate."
