Incident Summary:

02/12/2019: Assailants attacked the convoy of Kashim Shettima near Dikwa, Borno, Nigeria. Shettima, the Borno governor, was not harmed, however, at least three people were killed and an unknown number of other people were abducted in the incident. Two hostages were released by assailants on February 18, 2019. The fate of the remaining hostages is unknown. The Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), claimed responsibility for the attack.
