Incident Summary:
02/06/2019: Assailants attacked the Nduma Defense of Congo (NDC) in Kakonse, Masisi, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. This was one of two related attacks targeting the NDC in North Kivu on this day. Eight people, including two NDC members, two civilians, and four assailants, were killed and three people were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Nyatura Militia.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
