Incident Summary:

01/13/2019: Assailants raided the house of a village council head in Phokhariya, West Bengal, India. Two of the council head's relatives, Narad Yadav and Purushottam Yadav, were abducted. Narad Yadav was released shortly after the attack, but the whereabouts of Purushottam Yadav, a government contractor, are unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
