10/03/2018: Assailants opened fire on a gendarmerie post at the Inata gold mine in Inata, Sahel, Burkina Faso. At least one officer was killed and another officer was injured in the assault. Additionally, three officers were reported missing. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources suspected the involvement of Ansar al-Islam (Burkina Faso).
