08/23/2018: Security forces identified and intercepted assailants attempting to plant explosive devices in Rutbah, Al Anbar, Iraq. Five assailants were killed in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
