08/01/2018: Assailants opened fire at a police checkpoint in Chimtal, Balkh, Afghanistan. At least three police officers and 10 assailants were killed and three others were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
