Incident Summary:

07/18/2018: Assailants abducted 12 Agency for Rehabilitation and Energy Conservation in Afghanistan (AREA) mine-removal personnel in Dara-i-Pech district, Kunar, Afghanistan. The hostages were released on July 31, 2018. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State.
