Incident Summary:

04/28/2018: Assailants raided a road construction site in Samri, Chhattisgarh, India. Three workers were abducted and five construction vehicles were set on fire in the attack. One hostage was released later the same day, and the remaining two hostages were released on May 9, 2018. Maoists claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in opposition to the road construction project because the road would facilitate the activity of security forces without benefitting local residents.
