04/18/2018: Assailants attacked Syrian Armed Forces (SAF) soldiers in Mayadin, Deir ez-Zor, Syria. At least 38 people, including 25 soldiers and 13 assailants, were killed in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
