Incident Summary:

03/26/2018: Assailants opened fire on a mayor at his residence in Umm al-Henta, Diyala, Iraq. The mayor and his son were killed and his daughter was injured in the attack. This was one of two related attacks targeting mayors in northeastern Diyala on this date. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incidents.
