03/24/2018: Assailants kidnapped five volunteer fighters near their base in Hawijah, Kirkuk, Iraq. The hostages were killed and their bodies were discovered three hours later. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
