03/20/2018: An explosive device detonated targeting a military patrol in Mataje, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Four soldiers were killed and six others were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) dissidents.
