Incident Summary:

02/25/2018: A suicide bomber detonated at a volunteer fighters’ headquarters in Kirkuk, Iraq. The assailant was killed and three volunteer fighters were injured in the blast. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the volunteer fighter headquarters was targeted because Sunnis and Kurds were tortured there. Sources also suspected that the attack was meant to raise support for ISIL among Kurds who live in Kirkuk.
