02/21/2018: Assailants abducted Katiya Peka Kumoti from his farm in Lanji, Maharashtra, India. Kumoti, a police warden, was killed and his body was discovered the following morning. In a letter left at the scene, the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the victim was targeted for being a police informant.
